Interviews with Gwinnett County Educators:

Lisa Eickholdt:

Dr. Lisa Eickholdt is currently an assistant professor of literacy education at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She has been an educator for the past twenty-five years, and has taught for sixteen years in Gwinnett County. At the time of the state appeals case, Dr. Eickholdt was working as a reading recovery specialist for Freeman’s Mill Elementary School. She attended the state hearing at the request of a colleague, and agreed to speak with us about her impressions of Laura Mallory and about her perspective on literary censorship.

Dana Kling:

Dana Kling is a language arts teacher at Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia. Mr. Kling has held his current Gwinnett County position for the past 16 years, and has been an educator at both the middle and high school level since 1999. Although he was not directly involved with this case, Mr. Kling kindly agreed to offer us his opinion on censorship from the point of view of a  long-term Gwinnett County educator.
