The final decision regarding the censorship of The Golden Compass was determined at the school board meeting on December 18th, 2007, which occurred immediately after the committee meeting. The final decision was to remove the book from the shelves; however, students could still access the text upon request. The school board discussed the committee’s recommendation, but ultimately decided to act in opposition to the committee’s suggestions.
