This question was at the center of a noteworthy case of censorship in Gwinnett County, Georgia from 2005 to 2007. Over the course of these two years, concerned parent Laura Mallory managed to bring her challenge against J.K. Rowling\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Harry Potter <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">series from a Loganville elementary school to the state court of appeals. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Drawing from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/burn.coplacdigital.org\/gcsu\/the-case\/appeal-3\/\">legal documents<\/a><\/strong>,<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/burn.coplacdigital.org\/gcsu\/the-case\/appeal-2\/\">eyewitness interviews<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/burn.coplacdigital.org\/gcsu\/historical-background\/wicca\/\">the challenger\u2019s own accounts<\/a><\/strong>, this COPLACDigital project examines Laura Mallory\u2019s attempts to limit access to the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Harry Potter<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> series in the context of religious fundamentalism.
